Studio Monitors are great in that they do their best to deliver sound of your song without bias. Unfortunately, all studio monitors have some type of bias. For example, your mom and little brother are not goint to listen to your music with professional studio monitors hooked up to their car's sound system and boom boxes. It is important to get another point of reference, as many as possible, to hear your audio in different aspects which show unwanted imperfections. It is also advised to keep a stereo boom box or pair of low grade headphones in your studio to hear it from those views as well. If your music is intended for ears then no better reference point is from an actual car to listen. Use different cars and many multiple variations of sound systems from these different cars to see the effects that cetain vocal mixing techniques have on them.
