The SD Memory

SD memory (Made by San Disk) and other compact memory cards are steadily growing a larger market with music equipment each year. Many types of digital media accept this format. The SD card itself is very small, about the size of a large thumbnail, but able to contain large amounts of data such as 1 GB or 2 GB and higher. Many modern computers do not come equipped to read SD or other compact memory cards as the format is relatively new to the mass market, where before they were strictly used for storage in digital cameras. The solution is to buy a USB drive converter able to read these compact cards as well as be able to fit in a computer, USB is perfect since so many computer come with USB drives pre-installed. A universal compact card reader or standalone SD card reader are cheap, always under 20 dollars and can be invaluable if your music production relies on this type of transferrable media card.
